Charting lines with breaks

I have a step function that I wish to plot but I don't want to plot the vertical lines between each step. Right now I'm using an X-Y scatter plot connecting the dots. I've attached the file so you can see what's going on. Also, I'm using Office2004 on a mac. Don't know if that matters.

Does the mac version allow for custom error bars?

I got your file and I see the graph, but I don't understand what you did. How does making error bars in the vertical direction make the other lines go away?

Ok, I see what you did, and that's very helpful....but is there a way to actually remove the connectors rather than just covering them up? I have another data set where the steps will overlap....so the connecting lines are actually diagonal, rather than being straight up and down.

Only way to really break the line between points is to have empty cells in your data source.

So the xy values would plot the start and end points of a horizontal line then a gap before the next set of values.
You can not use formula to do this as the line will be interpolated between points.
