    Plot data month-wise and month-wise

I would like to plot my data (Month,Region) into a format so that I can see the following (example):
"How many requests were there from "East","West","Central" Region in Sept. month".

"How many requests were there from "East","West","Central" Region in July. month".

I guess first I will need to convert the dates from M/D/Y format to just Month Name and then I need to group the data into region-wise.

I cannot figure a simple way to do it.

I have attached my excel file below.

    Thanks

I'm not sure if this is what you're after:
    1. I added a column for month names using:

    2. Sort by month, then by region.
    3. Add nested subtotals:
` a) first subtotal by month (it was the first sort key).
` b) subtotal by region (do not remove/replace first subtotal)

Thanks for your effort. I was more sort of looking to plot a graph displaying data month-wise and region-wise...

Yeah Andy Pope - Like that !!! You are awesome...

    Thank you so much.

Also I was wondering if that is the only way to do it in excel? Looks like a lot of things to do to get a simple graph like that?

Charts only display information provided. They do not summarize the data and then chart the results.

The quicker way would be pivot table and chart.
