min/max lines ?

Its been a while since I have done any charts in excel and thus I can't remember much. I am trying to replace a very complicated (overly so in my opinion) spreadsheet with a much simpler one. I need to create a line chart(with points) based off of a list containing date and value which is simple enough. Where it gets screwy is I need to also have a some sort of min/max lines on the same chart so that I know when I have gone above or below our allowed threshold. I need it to show the points on the chart above/below this line(s). I can't simply decrease the viewable range of the chart as this won't show us when we are out of compliance. I have played around trying to figure it out but like I said I just can't remember what I am looking for. If someone can tell me what it is that I am looking for I can figure out how to do it but I don't even remember what its called.
