    Scatter chart marker shape bug

When I change the markers of a scatter plot to rounds. Solid white fill and black marker line. Than I get differend shaped rounds in my scatter plot (i.e. the sizes of the markerpoint appear to be egg shaped or round or...well i lookes very odd.) It is however, not a very big difference between the point but it looks sloppy and unproffesional. All versions of excel 2007 Ive used so far have this problem.

Excel 2003 does not have this problem.
Moreover...if i open the graph in excel 2003 the dots are normal again.

The strange shaped dots are also converted to word or ppt is you past it (as whatever format does not matter) image.

    Here is an example:

look at the circles? They are not the same shape!
All markes shapes (triangles etc also have this but less obvious)

please tell me is this a BUG or do I do something wrong?

Does changing the DPI setting on Print page setup make any difference?

Can you post a workbook rather than an image?
    Cheers

    example workbook

    Hi Andy,

I am new here so I did not know this was possible. Herewith an example workbook incl picture as I see the workbook.

Resolution does not solve the problem (if I did what you meant. ) Zooming in does seem to solve the problem. But copy paste on a regular size scale can not be done without this strange phenomenon.

    cheers

There does appear to be some distortion.
I'm guessing but it maybe because the outline of the circle is calculated for each shape/data marker. The small size results in distortion, which is less obvious when the markers are increased in size or you increase the zoom level.

You could try increasing the size of the marker and use a custom marker.
Create a circle using the auto shapes. Format as required then copy to the clipboard. Select the series and Paste.

Thanks that is a nice work around!

This is in my opionino a bug. Because it happens to all shapes but is not that clearly visable. The funny thing is that even with your workaround shapes are a thiny different from eachother but much better than the original way.

Microsoft is not conserned about these things right?
    They could not care less??

Well thanks again this works and is a solid structural solution!
