scrolling chart with shapes that scroll also??

    Hi again,
I have seen Andy's scrolling chart and was wondering if this is possible.... I have a chart that has shapes that I drew overtop it that must stay with the data points. Is there a way to scroll those too? If I group the shapes with the chart....will they scroll also....I am figuring not the way the scrolling chart works. Is there a excel container like thingy I could put it in...i.e. flash script does?

I hope I am making sense here lol

Thanks for any help in advance.

    Should be possible.

Can you post example of your chart and shapes.
    Cheers

    Hi Andy,

Here is an example of what I mean. On the chart you will see lines and arrows that need to stay with the dates.

There will be more sheets with different charts. My goal is to put all the charts on the same page in vertical order and have one scroller for all...so I can get a snapshot of just a piece of information, that I can compare all the charts together.

Thanks so much for your help in advance.

You can use additional series to provide the arrows.

    Hi Andy,

Sorry I didnt explain myself good enough.

I need ALL the graphics...the lines that are crossed...the little blue arrow....the black line, not just the red arrow...this would also include text boxes.

Also...I want to use your scroller chart i.e. There will be more sheets with different charts. My goal is to put all the charts on the same page in vertical order and have one scroller for all...so I can get a snapshot of just a piece of information, that I can compare all the charts together.

    Thanks.

So all vertical lines can be done using a series plotted as xy-scatter with error bars.

The shapes can either be done with xy-scatter where you plot start and end points. Or if they are just crosses and the size and angle of the lines is not important you can create the shape and the copy and paste the shape as a custom Data marker. Same with textboxes.
If the text boxes have changing content the use data labels.

    Hi again,
I had mentioned I need it to stay with the dates. It really has nothing to do with the plotted data. It needs to stay with the X axis. I could create a dummy series with all zeros I guess. What a mess thats going to be since I have stock charts with secondary axis already....arg.

Thank you for all the help.
