Creating a grid of events that plots time blocks

Hello!

This is my first post, so I hope I do it properly!

I have a chart of data with the following columns:
Date, Start Time, End Time, Event Name, Venue Name

I'd like to create a calendar of events.
Ideally, the first column in the spreadsheet would be a list of hours in the day (to the :30),
The first row of the spreadsheet would be the Venue Names

The Event Names would then plot themselves into the grid based on the start time and venue name which would create a square (the size of which is based on how long the event would be)

I know there is a way to do it because I have seen it done, and have some of the code from having seen it done from an export from FoxPro.

Could someone point me in the right direction?
I'm happy to try and muddle through it, but am not really sure where to start!
