Prevent a confidential column from being displayed in a pivot table

Hi all,

I have a table in spreadsheet 1 where one of the column is hidden and accessible only by a password-protected macro. This table in spreadsheet 1 works fine, but it also feeds a pivot table in spreadsheet 2. Problem is that the confidential column in spreadsheet 1 can now be viewed by anyone if they use spreadsheet 2 because pivot tables requirements are such that you must select an entire set of cells and can't omit specific columns intentionally.

Is there a way to keep that confidential column hidden when using the pivot?

only by moving the column so that it is the first or last column in the table and then don't include the column in the source data for the pivot table-you won't be able to use the table name

Thanks fr your reply Joseph. I wanted to avoid that solution but worst comes to worst I will go for this.
