Charting 250 employees with their performance

    Hi,

I have this list which I have to chart in the order of % performance.
    Emp 1 5%
    Emp 2 11%
    Emp 3 15%
    ............
    Emp 250 81%

Everyone of these guys like to see where they stand clearly and that's where my problem is. In a chart, it's very difficult to include 250 bars clearly with the name.

Have any of you gone through a similar problem. Would be interested in knowing how you solved it.

    Thanks.

U can group 250 employees into different teams... or groups... like group 1 , 2 , 3 etc..

and create and drop down box... for the team/group..

So when the user clicks on the group...it will show required graph

I have moved this to the Charting Forum.

Do you need to show all names simultaneously or are you looking to highlight just a given individual amongst all data points ? You may want to look at different types of charts (other than bar).

I'm sure others will come up with some good ideas.

Re: Charting 250 employees with their performance

Building on a variation of Shijesh Kumar's thought:
Rather than teams, how about a percentage category?

Group the employees into percentage categories (5%,10%, 15%, etc.), then plot just the category percentages and show them into which group they fall.

The above could be done by using a look up table to match their actual performance to a category, which would make the chart somewhat dynamic since the look up/match formula will return a new result when performance moves into a new category.

As long as they are not looking at a hard copy how about this interactive chart that displays Top/Bottom 10 and any selected group of 10 employees.
