    making a pie chart

    I am having a problem creating a pie chart.

    I have 10 people and i have placed a formular in the spreadsheet so i know how many achived a distinction, merit, pass and fail but when i want to show this in a pie chart it will not say 20 percent achived distinction and so on. it just simply puts the words in.

    i have attched the file so you can see the formular i have used the grid refernce i need the chart for is N5:N15 (the grade)

    any help will be great

    Thanks Bugzy

    Re: making a pie chart

    Hi,

    Pie charts need actual numbers to work, so we need to summarise the pass rates before we can make a chart:

    M17=Fail
    M18=Pass
    M19=Merit
    M20=Distinction

    N17=COUNTIF(N$5:N$15,M17)
    (copy this down to N20)

    Now select M17:N20 and click the "chart button"
