    Excel Chart

    Happy new year all!

I have the colomn A (from 1 to 8) set as the chart's Category x-axis label. However, as row 5 to 6 does not contain any data, the chart will still display it as the x-axis lables. Is there a way to exlude the labels if it cell is blank? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

    Re: Excel Chart

    Hi,

If you don't want the data of the empty cells to show at all, you could define a dynamic range for the cells that actually have values.

    - click Insert - Names - define
    - enter ChartRange as the range name
    - in the "Refers to" box enter
    =OFFSET(Sheet1!$B$1,0,0,COUNTA(Sheet1!$B:$B),1)
    and hit OK
-edit your data series (Chart - Source data - series tab) and enter

    =Sheet1!ChartRange

    as the values.
