If you want to show or hide individual columns based on the check boxes, check out
http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ChartByControl.html
But I'd advise you to place the chart in a regular sheet instead of a chart sheet.
So when i click the Jan Check box on the graph it shows the Jan Data from the complaints sheet. Same theory when i click the Feb check box and all the months on there. Cheers

Looking at the link, I cannot see a similar example to mine. I tried to replicate the example from the check boxes, but it did not work
Could you show me an example for Jan, then hopefully i can replicate it for the rest of the months!!

The simplest solution, it seems, is to use a Pivot Chart.
However, the article is pretty clear and includes a download example.
You simply need to substitute the Months in your workbook for the "Y1", etc. series in the example.
