    Selecting chart data ranges

I got some basic knowledge about charts but the thing I'm trying to accomplish goes beyond my knowledge. I tried to find something similar on the net but couldn't find one. I hope some of you guys can help me.

I got several rows of data on which row 4 corresponds with row 9. 5 with 10 and 6 with 11. In other words when a period is selected both corresponding rows should appear in the plot.

This brings us to the second problem. I've no idea how to make a chart where I can select a period [week] and can choose which data I want to be displayed [row 4 and 9 or 5 and 10 etc.]

In the attachment you'll find the data. I really hope some of you can help me with this.

    Re: Selecting chart data ranges

See if this works for you (see attached). I used the OFFSET function to pull the proper data into rows 15 and 16 based on what you choose from the dropdown in A15. The chart graphs whichever data you chose. You didn't specify what sort of chart you're trying to make. I used a column chart with row 15 being 1 series and 16 being the other with the dates as the x axis. Because there is such a difference between the values in series 1 and 2, you can't really see series 2. Hope this gets you started in the right direction?

Thank you ChemistB, we're almost there, I guess.

However I need it to show only one week at the time.
So I guess we need another dropdown list for that.

    Is this possible?

Thanks again you really helped a lot so far

    Re: Selecting chart data ranges

    Hi Jonathan,

have a look at the attached.
Drop-down list in A18 is fed by a dynamic range that grows when you add more columns.
Range names are defined for the data series to start at the selected date and span 7 days.

    cheers
