(Excel 2010) Plot cells formated in '000

Hi, I formatted part of the cells to be plotted in thousands using custom formatting ###0. When I plot it, Excel plot the original formatted figure, how can plot it in only thousands?

I looked around on internet, there seems to be a ''Plot visible cell only" option somewhere but I couldn't find it. I use Excel 2010

Hi kanonathena,

You could try editting the axis options to display in the format you want? Under the "number" tab?

Otherwise, try using the TEXT function to hard convert your cells into the format you want. So say your figure is in A1, try =TEXT(A1, "###0").

Thanks for the response. The problem is that some of the cells are formatted in thousands, some are already entered in thousands, so they appear to be same but the underlying numbers are different.

I think I will just have to use functions to change the underlying number to be in the same format.

If you wanted, you could use a formula in a helper column to convert them all to single digits, like so:

This should divide any number already entered as a thousand figure into a single digit figure or decimal.
