How can I make a graph that shows the data distribution?

    Hi all,

I have to make a graph where the results will be presented by their dispersal distribution.
For example I have a list of results, I would like the distribution of results to be shown in a line graph by the percentage they represent of the total results.
For example 25% of the results, are between 10 and 20 cm, 30% between 5-10 cm, etc. ..

Like in the picture I have attached as an example that is showing the distribution of muscle fibers by their diameter.

    Thanks in advance.

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

You need to build a table of summary values using formula and then chart that as charts will not summarise the data they only display it.

    Thank's for the quick replay.

I've attached a sample excel file.

There are 3 groups in the table, each group contains the cells diameter in that group.

I have to show the results distribution (cells diameter) of each group in a line graph, like in example in my first post.
The X axis is the diameter, and the Y axis is the percentage of cells in that diameter.

In the sumproduct function, what do i have to fill in each array ?

The formula sums those values that are within a range specified by the 2 sizes in the table next to the data in L:M.

So the first row is diameters of 0 to 5cm

    Thanks, it solved the problem.

Just one more question if you please, How did you enter the syntax with the > and <= commands in the sumproduct formula ?

Not sure I understand the question. I just typed in the > and <= characters.
