creating a daily chart with multiple purchases each day.

Hello everyone,

I am having a trouble with this chart i made.

In a simplified form, the data sheet is about a the purchases that are made in a store.
You can see how much and mow many purchases was made in daily basis.

Now I tried to make a chart out of it, but the first problem I faced was that the chart wouldn't add the money like I was hoping it would.
If you look at the attached file, that on January fifth there has been 4 purchase with a total of $97 of purchase that day. But it is showing the each purchases seperately without adding them up.

And I also would like to be able to see how many purchases each day had in the chart.

Charts to not summarize data, you have to do that prior to charting data.

Quickest way is via pivot table/chart.

Too bad that the chart doesn't summarize my data, I thought they could do such a thing and more.


I never heard of pivot table before, but I will look into it, and learn how to use it.
I was just hoping that I could do this without creating a different data sheet(pivot table) just for this chart.
