Exclamation Excel 2007 - Odd problem with chart data table

    Excel 2007
    Windows XP Professional

Whenever I add a data table to an existing chart, I end up with two sets of labels for the chart. See example at following link:

    http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...bleProblem.jpg

If I delete the upper set of labels, the data table labels aren't perfectly lined up with the marks on the chart. See example at following link:

    http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/...leProblem2.jpg

Excel 2003 did really well with having the data table attached to the chart. Excel 2007 does a horrible job, at least for me. Every video I've seen on YouTube shows that it can be done correctly, but for some reason, my copy has issues.

I'd appreciate any insight some may have on what is causing this. Given that I produce a minimum of 50 charts a month, many with data tables, this is extremely frustrating!!

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

How is the alignment if you sent the Axis labels to none rather than delete the axis?

Or if you change the axis type to Text rather than automatic or date the labels will be removed and the table header row used.

I set the axis to "Text" and it worked like a charm! Thanks, Andy!!!

So..... my fix stopped working. Now I'm back to the exact same results I had before and changing to "Text" does nothing! I'm sooooooooooo tired of dealing with Microsoft. What was wrong with 2003???? NOTHING, THAT'S WHAT!! They've made Office so difficult to manage. What used to take only a right-click to accomplish now takes jumping through numerous hoops. Sigh...

Ok, soooo, I realized my issue was the fact that I had two Y axes. I had a number on the left and a percentage on the right. When I swapped the axis each series referenced, it lined the data table up correctly. What a load of garbage!!!

Hahahaha. This is rather funny... Not only is the thread 9 years old.... but it has taken you 9 years to object to arlu's message... and even arlu herself vanished from the forum years ago!!!!
