Dates on column chart

I have created a column chart (2 charts). The dates I have on the spreadsheet are March 2011 & March 2012 but the chart shows Jan 2011 & Jan 2012. This is Excel 2007. I have tried using various date formats. I have made sure the cells are formatted as dates and not as texts.

Hi dalewms2,

Looks like you have the date in the format "Month YYYY"... try changing the same to dd-mmm-yy and check the month..
I believe you have the date as Jan 3 which is showing 3 Mar, may be because of regional setting of dd-mm or mm-dd. Thanks.
