    Chart based on horizontal series

Hi, I have a long list of data formatted as posted below, and would like to create a line chart where each series contains the horizontal values, i.e., series 1 contains values from B1, C1, D1, E1, series 2 from B2, C2,..., and so on.

    A B C D E
    1 1.542033 2.251585 10.238782 67.711149
    2 1.694389 2.730656 14.05863 67.285572
    3 1.706712 2.597196 9.972451 67.446513
    4 1.627268 2.597042 12.947649 67.459884
    5 1.533023 2.60796 16.700725 67.415001
    6 1.660046 2.522797 10.139217 67.501083
    7 1.703219 2.598946 7.867904 67.301547
    8 1.672883 2.55944 9.74135 67.172954
    9 1.496847 2.503401 8.490057 66.651686
    10 1.445338 2.12252 3.254505 67.44276

Now when I create a line chart based on, e.g., the first 5 lines, it does so appropriately. *But* when I select all data, Excel treats each column as a series, rather than each row. Is there a way to trigger a 1-series-per-row chart?

    Any help is appreciated!

Re: Chart based on horizontal series

Under the "Select data" menu of the chart, you have the option to "Switch rows to columns"; try using that, and see if it does the trick...?

That absolutely solved my problem, thanks a lot!

But now that gave rise to another problem, see I have 410 data series, and Excel complains that "Maximum number of data series per chart is 255"... Is there a way around this? Or perhaps if this has already been solved could you point me to the right place?

No, not to my knowledge. And not that it's any of my business, but why would you want plot 410 series in one chart? Perhaps there is an alternative?
