How do I make a graph with over 1000 numbers?

Hello. Im new here and I've starting to making a graph.
I've following this manual, but it's seems that i have to many numbers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B8kFVNzlQ8

In the A i have seconds, staring from 15:30:00
In the B i have temperature.

Here is a picture of my excellent graph:

But how can i make it works? I don't need to have every seconds in A, as long as I get a graph who works.
If the graph write out everything in A. The graph on X-axis will be to large to write out.
I can be happy if I only print out 153000, 160000, 163000, 170000, 173000....to 220000. And numbers like 153543 can be written as . or nothing. But i don't know how to do that beacuse there is no numbers like 153000 or 173000 in the list. It's very near 173000, but its more like 173034 (Hour 17, minute 30, 34 seconds).

But here is my numbers.

Contains:
- temperature.txt
- seconds.txt

something you may want to try is adjust your Y-axis scaling. also, maybe you could use a 1 hour interval or some other "grouping" that would reduce the amount of points you want to play?

and not every1 can open .rar files (i know i cant lol) could you upload a sample of your file please?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

I don't know how i can adjust the y-axis and make an 1 hour interval. It's sounds good.

www.rarlab.com if you want to open. Everyones need Winrar. It's a big part of the "computerworld"
But i can upload without .rar.

Here is temperature. It's on Y-axis.

http://uppit.com/dcxhjj4hecyz/seconds.txt
Here is seconds. It's on x-axis.
The seconds is starting from 153000. Hour 15, minute 30, second 00.

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do, nor what problem you are having.

According the Excel's list of specs and limitation for 2002, a chart can handle 32000 data points, so 1000 points should not be any trouble.

Your picture in the first post shows two columns of data with a scatter chart, but the y value for each point appears to be 0. It's hard to tell for sure in a picture or from text files, but the second/temperature column is left justified, which is the default alignment for text (numbers by default are right justified like in time column/column 1). Is it possible that your real problem is that Excel is seeing your temperatures as text and, thus, plotting them as 0's? 1st suggestion I would make is to make sure that Excel is seeing everything as numbers and not text.

If you still want to extract every ith data point, I would suggest using something like the INDEX() function to extract every ith point into a second table, then you can use that table as the source for your plot.

to adjust the y-axis, click on right-click on it and (i think, because im using 2007 here) look for properties...i know its under 1 of those options. look for scaling and adjust

when i suggested a sample file, i meant an excel workbook that contains a sample of your data for us to look at
