    Creating, Displaying a Custom X axis on chart

    Greetings fellow Excel users,

    I'm wondering if you can help me out with a problem that has been driving me crazy.

    This is my data

    RNum SNum SaNum Result
    424625 1 1 391.824
    424625 2 1 440.62
    424650 1 1 449.178
    424678 1 1 330.65
    424689 1 1 424.56
    424689 7 1 336.63
    424689 19 1 227.89

    I want to create an XY chart with Result in the Y axis and a concatenated Run Number,Sequence Number,Sample Number in the X Axis

    I've tried to use custom axes,but I'm having no luck at all.

    I've attached a pictures of what i want my data to look like and what i seem to be getting and would appreciate it if you guys could help me out

    Thanks!

    If
    A1:D8 is the existing data,

    Then
    F1 = A1&", "&B1&", "&C1
    G1 = D1
    pull down

    Then make a line chart of F2:G8

    Does that do it?

    Well, That's the first step. I used Concatenate instead of the formula and I get the same thing. Now when I select that as my x axis, Excel is not understanding what that is and is displaying a scale from 0 to 18 instead of these combined values. I've tried changing the format of the axis to "Text", but that doesn't do it

    Like this:

    1) Select G2:G8

    2) Make it a line chart (not an XY chart or anything else, the "Line Chart" type specifically)

    3) Select data => horizontal category labels section => click the "edit" button

    4) Select F2:F8

    5) Accept

    Does that do what you want?
