Post Reporting EXCEL trendline Plotting BUG

I am having difficulty Using 2007 excel trendline functions for polynomials on data sets (xy scatter plots).
after plotty x and y and adding a trendline with the displayed function I tried to back calculate the values from the function to validate the trendline.
the equation does not match the shape of the trendline at all which is very Odd> I replotted the results in Matlab and it seems that the coefficient infront of the x^3 term does not show sufficient significant digets.
Does anyone know how to increase the significant figures in the trendline equation or know how to fix this error?

here is a sample of the x y data that I am trying to validate the trendline for.

Re: Reporting EXCEL trendline Plotting BUG

select the formula label and increase the precision of the number format.

Of course the issue may be that you are not using the correct chart type, xy-scatter not line, or that you have the data laid out Y then X values and Excel by default expects X values in the first column.

You do not say what the resulting formula is so I can only guess.

Thanks, I did manage to solve the problem just after I posted the request. - left click on the trendline- format trendline label and - number precision.

Thanks anyway. I may have questions in the future. You any good with matlab? or know a good forum/

    No I don't use Matlab.
Probably the best place to start
