    Times for the y axis

Im trying to create what in my head, is a simple line graph. i would like the x axis to represent the days of the week. i need to plot one data point per day. but i need it to be represented by a time of the day. so my data set would look something like

    Monday 5:30
    tuesday 6:15
    wens 5:50
    Thurs 7:00
    Friday 6:45
    Saturday 5:15
    Sunday 8:45

I want to be able to compile departure times each day and give them to my boss on a weekly basis so i can prove that there is a trend for certain days of the week. Im just having a hell of an issue with the time. I though maybe military time but with it still not being a numeric value i have the same issue. Also wondering if it would be possible to have excel average the times for say a months worth of tuesdays if i wanted to. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Since you asked for a line chart, see the attached file. I've formatted the Y axis to show only values between 5:00 and 9:00

If you have months worth of data, make sure each day is represented by a real date, then use another column to extract the day with =text(A1,"dddd") and build a pivot table that groups by that day column and calculates averages.
