Editing Pivot Table Sub-Totals In-cell

Hi All:

Hoping there is an easy way to do this. I have created a pivot table with sub-totals and want to edit (add text to) the cell next to the subtotal text (reference the attached image). In the cell next to 'Task 6 Total' I'd like to be able to add a quick description.

Not sure if Excel allows Subtotal rows to be edited, but it appears not from my end.

you can't edit that cell but you could add a comment to the 'Task 6 Total' cell. it won't stay with the correct cell if your table layout alters but nor would your method-even if it worked ;-)

also-if you add text to the end of the 'Task 6 Total' cell it will travel with that cell

Thanks Joseph! That's what I figured, but didn't know if a work-around existed to edit that cell directly. I'll go with the comment approach for now.
