    Pivot table Cache clear

    Hello,
It seems like a pivot table has some kind of cache and I am wondering how to clear it.

    For example,

    I have a table like:

    Project Date completed
    aa 1-1-2012 100
    bb 1-1-2012 200

Than attach a pivot table to it.

    Row labels = date
    Column labels = project
    values = sum of completed

    then change aa to cc

In the pivot table all aa, bb and cc are listed.
when there really is no aa any more.

is there a way to delete the cache.

    Chart test2.xlsx

    I have attached a sample.

    thanks

I haven't looked at your sample file, but you only need to select a certain option for the pivot table, and then refresh the pivot table. Try the following...

    1. With a cell selected within your pivot table, select the Options tab on the ribbon.
    2. In the PivotTable group, select Options.
    3. In the dialog box, select the Data tab.
    4. For "Number of items to retain per field", select None, and click OK
    5. In the Options tab on the ribbon and in the Data group, click on Refresh.

Actually, a shortcut to the dialog box for PivotTable Options would be to right-click a cell within your pivot table, select PivotTable Options, etc.
