    Plotting Durations

Due to changes on the request - I thought it was best to close this post - so I marked it Solved.

I am trying to come up with the best method in plotting duration on excel for various projects. I have a start and finish date and have calculated the duration by number of dates. But I do not know how to get that information on automatically to populate on the calendar accordingly. I have attached my spreadsheet of the look I am looking for and what I would like for it to do. Any advise or help on the best method for this.

    Re: Plotting Durations

I used hidden columns and only one conditional format formula: column E holds the column number of the cell with the start date & F the cell with the Finish date. Conditional format just checks each cell in the calendar to see if it's column number is between the two.

    Re: Plotting Durations

ProtonLeah, Thank you so much for your response and this is awesome. But I have a couple of questions.
1 - I tried adding another stage at the end and start and end dates. Then copied your formulas, but it would not give me the same information as the above cells. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have attached the file you created with my add on information.

2- Is there a way to have Sheet 1 to contain only the data information Column A - F? Then have Column G - etc. on Sheet 2?

Once again Thank you for taking the time to assist me.

Thank you so very much this working just great. Would it be possible to seperate as I noted in Step 2 from my earlier post.

2- Is there a way to have Sheet 1 to contain only the data information Column A - F? Then have Column G - etc. on Sheet 2?
