Question Graph need to show trends on specific incidents for accident claims

I have a column that lists the type of accident claims that are issued in the organization and I want to create a graph that shows the amount of each incident. Once i have that graph I want to also do other columns like employee or employee position. How do I go about doing this? Also I need this chart to constantly update as new items are put into the column.

    Thanks

    Hi

Can you post a sample worksheet with false information so we can see the layout and what you want. It will get a better response.

    Hello,

what do you mean with "amount of each incident"? The sample data does not have any numbers or anything that points to an amount.

Data like this can quickly and easily be analysed with a pivot table and/or a pivot chart. You can set up the general framework with a few clicks and then filter on the aspects that you would like to focus on. When your source data changes, you can update the pivot table or chart with one click on the ribbon.

To get started with pivot tables, please have a look here: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Pivots/pivotstart.htm

To set up the pivot table so that it uses a data source that can grow in size, see here: http://www.contextures.com/xlPivot01.html
    regards, LMP
