chart with summary of min/max and average values by data category

I have two columns of data, column A has different categories some of which are repeated several times. In Column B there are values associated with the Column A category.

I want to make a chart that summarizes the range of values in Column B (min to max and average) by the various categories in Column A. Since, the categories in Column A are repeated, I to prepare a chart that consolidates Column A categories and graphs (column graph?) the min/max and average of Column B.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance in making this chart, is this a Pivot Chart type graph?

From the information you've given, I would create an Excel Table from your data, which will give you a dynamic source for a Pivot Table and Chart. See the attached file for an example.
