Determining x-value with given y-value from scatter chart

Hi,

I'm just wondering if it is possible to obtain a x-value from a given y-value based on a graph drawn in excel, without having to read from the gridlines. If so, any help would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

Attached is an example of the graph and value i need to obtain.

You can calculate it from your data...

=TREND(B2:I2,B1:I1,70)

Thanks for the reply, but the TREND function is based only on a linear trend. Is there any formula which can take into account the curvature of the graph?

Do you want a linear interpolation of the values in your data -- meaning not the values from a linear regression, but an interpolation between existing values?

I'll require a point on the curve itself, something similar to what c_m suggested. Btw, i need the x and y-axis data to be presented in rows instead of columns, and i can't seem to get the linest equation right when i take the data values in rows. Is there any way to go about this? Thanks.

i have just made a graph on excel. i have got a different set of x values now that i need to use to find there corresponding y values on the already made graph. Can someone please show me how to do this...the graph at end shud be showing the found y values and the used x values.....its urgent
