    Graphs and Automatic Text Boxes

    Hello All,

So I am not sure what the easiest way of doing this would be or if it requires a macro but if you refer to the attached spreadsheet, I am trying to figure a way for the text boxes in the graph to update as the rank updates.

For example, if the Rank of Chicago changed from 3 to 1, is there a way I can get the textbox to automatically change as well? Basically, I want to link each text box to the matching offices rank cell.

Pretty new to this, so I would appreciate any help anyone can offer!

Select a textbox, type "=" in the formula bar and select a cell.

    OR

Right click on a column, choose Add Data Labels. Then click on one of the numbers, it should select the numbers for the whole series. Click again and only that number should be selected. Now type "=" in the formula bar and select a cell.

I tried doing that, but for some reason, it isn't working. Any ideas why?

    Not really, no.
Your workbook is protected or something?
    You typed "=" instead of = ?

    Did you try both methods?
    What happens when you try?
To be honest I did "fail" a few times myself. I think maybe in Excel 2003 you could just select the shape, type "=" and select a cell. That does not work in Excel 2010, you have to use the formula bar as described above.
