pivot keeps value despite pivot deleted, file saved, closed and reopened and new pivot

    Hi Guys
I have a pivot in Excel 2010. The values have changed in the original table which the pivot is drawing its information from yet despite saving multiple times and even closing the file and reopening it refuses to change the data.

I am altering the data in the source sheet. deleting the pivot sheet and starting from scratch making a new pivot. Clear all also make the same type of mistake.

Love to hear that I am doing something incorrect and can fix it.

    Hi Guys

As a work around and not acceptable I copied the source data to a new sheet and used that as the original for a new pivot.

Re: pivot keeps value despite pivot deleted, file saved, closed and reopened and new pivot

    Hi Guys
No response to this. Must be badly described. I think that the cause of the issue was that I had a pivot already created from the data and had not deleted it. I was not intending to as Pivots don't update and the outcome was useful for me. Then i discovered that an entire column was still appearing in a new pivot. Intending to upload it here I was cutting it down in size and decided to keep attempting to create a pivot as I cut out stuff. Then I noticed that once the other pivot was deleted my new one was able to use the correct columns and the correct data.

Hope this help someone like me who is prone to make mistake that most people would never dream possible.
