Dates on a line chart

I have a couple of different line charts that track data transferred from a table. The data is only input on Monday through Friday, but the line charts add Saturday and Sunday even though I haven't entered those days/dates. So how do I get Friday's data to skip Saturday and Sunday and go straight to the next Monday? FWIW my experience level with Excel is pretty low - I was only able to get the data onto the charts in the first place by browsing the forums. Thanks for your time
