Question Change Major Grid Line Spacing with category Axis VAlues

I have created a combination chart that uses a multi-level category label on the x axis. The chart is a combination line / horizontal bar. The chart is also dynamic and allows the user (my boss :-) ) to dynamically select a date range with a slider control. The charts are built via VBA. There are 2 charts - overview which gives entire date range, and a detail chart that lets us zoom in on specific dates

The overview chart is perfect - the detail chart is perfect with 1 exception, I would like to add vertical gridlines for each week number

If I added major gridlines it places them on each DAY - which is too busy visually. This is the last remaining snag that I have, and although not critical it would be nice to have if possible

VBA or manual solutions are acceptable

See attached workbook for details, along with an image of my desired outcome

Thanks in advance for any help

If you use the secondary horizontal axis and set the max to the number of weeks and the Major Unit to 7 you get the lines you require

Re: Change Major Grid Line Spacing with category Axis VAlues

    That is perfect - THANKS

All I need to do is make sure that the data set for the detail chart starts with a whole week to make sure the grid lines cross the axis at the proper place. I was pulling my hair out over this and it was such a relatively straight forward answer.

I appreciate the help, I will mark this thread as solved
