Best way to present a "secondary" bar?

    Hi,

Want to present some data but it is significantly less important than the "main" data yet still beneficial to be in the same chart.

Can't submit anthing so I'll use a text example to make it clear.

    Ice cream sold per store:

Store A: Sold 200 ice creams AM, 100 ice creams PM(all 1 vertical bar, 1 on top of the other) + 20 Specials(Seperate bar, less significant)
Store B: Sold 100 ice creams AM, 150 ice creams PM(all 1 vertical bar, 1 on top of the other) + 30 Specials(Seperate bar, less significant)
Store C: Sold 150 ice creams AM, 50 ice creams PM(all 1 vertical bar, 1 on top of the other) + 10 Specials(Seperate bar, less significant)

I want the ice cream bars to look more important than the Specials...

    Any advice?

Select the less significant data on the chart and change the chart type for that series. This will only work with 2 day bar charts. See the attached file as an example.

    Hello,

if you insert rows into your data and use multiple category labels (with blank content in the second category), then you can use something like the attached file.

Or, to make it really shine, use Jon Peltier's approach for clustered stacked column charts.

This is a very important Chart especially when we need to compare Some Important and Some Less Important but not to be neglected data in a Chart..
