Pivot table with years on columns. I cant calculate a difference in values

    Hi all,

I have been breaking my head with an excel pivot table field that I cant get to figure out how to create.

The pivot table uses data from two different periods (years) and I need the revenue difference between 2011 and 2012 and the % (difference divided by 2012 revenue*100).

I have attached a mock excel with a pivot table. I'd need two extra fields in the pivot table, "Revenue difference" and "% Difference".

Any help would be very much appreciated

Here is what I did....I added the Revenue Field to the data again (actually twice). then I click on the field after 2013 area....then I click show value as - Difference from - then clicked year for the first choice and 2012 for the second....do the same for the % difference from....and then hide the columns you don't want....HTH.....

How did you find the difference values? Those are no where to be found on the original tab with the original data! How did you manage to do this?

When you play with PT you have probably seen when you right click there is a Show Value As....now this may not be a choice in Excel 2003...but you can choose Difference From and do the subtraction there...same with the percentage...in 2003 you may have to do it using calculated fields....I don't remember if 2003 has calculated fields....
