    Report Filter

My data has two separate fields that make up the description for an assembly: a code number and a short descriptive name. How do I include both of them as a single unit for my Report Filter?

    Re: Report Filter

    Hi,

You could insert a new column in your data and enter formulae to concatenate the entries in the Code Number and Descriptive Name columns.

For example, if Code Number is in column A and Descriptive Name in column B (both starting in row 2), then, in a new column (e.g. C), enter =A2&B2 and copy down as required. Or, if you prefer, add a "-" or something to maintain some sort of visual separation, i.e. =A2&"-"&B2.

Hi, Since this post is under chart and Pivot i presume we are talking about Pivot Table here.
In a pivot table you will have to use a calculated field else you can use concatenate.
    Best Regards/VKS
