Chart for single column of state abbreviations

Hey everyone, this is my first post, thanks in advance for the help!!!

    The Data:
A single column that has state abbreviations in it. One title cell at the top labeled "state." One state abbreviation in each cell, about 100 rows in total.
It more or less looks like this:
    State
    ----------
    CA
    FL
    IN
    FL
    SC
    UT
    FL

    The problem:
I am trying to make some kind of chart (either bar or pie) that shows the frequency that each state appears. So i want to know how many times FL appears, or how many times CA appears, or how many times NY appears, etc. Hopefully it can be displayed in some type of easy to read visual way and not just a list of states with frequencies. What would be the best way to do that?

    Thank you!!!

use a pivot chart/table to summarize the data.

Or create a subtable of unique state codes and use countif formula to summarize and then chart
