    Charts with year and separate annual periods

    I like to separate years inside charts. How to manage this?
    Example: 2000-2013

    Another issue is how to show only year without particular dates inside X like 2010,2011,2012,2013. In the current view there is an issue as date is published.

    I enclose file to test.

    hopefully this will get you closer....I took your data and created a pivot table and grouped by dates....this creates a filter that will allow you to change the years how ever you want....up to a point....you can only have 250 columns in your data set....also, this is a clustered column graph...HTH

    this assumes you on excel 2010
    1) On your sample data worksheet - highlight A1 to B15024
    2) Create a pivot table
    3) Put Date in the Columns
    4) Put Sample data in teh values and show as sum
    5) now the fun part. click on any date in any column. Then right click and choose Group. (If you don't have that choice, then I don't what to do)
    6) Choose Month and Year
    7) Remove Grand Total at the end of the PT
    8) Click on the Filter labeled Column Labels and choose 2010 through 2013.
    9) click F11....this creates the Chart....

    now any time you change the date filter the chart will change with it.....

    @toplisek

    It's the same in 2007.

    Then make an helpcolumn in the sheet with the data and use =month(a1) en =year(a1) to determine the month and year.
