    Hi VJ.

See the attached. Is this what you want with a helper column that puts two strings together?

    OK VJ,

This is as close as I can get without a helper column. I hope it works for you. You need to go into the design and outline and repeat to get. Otherwise I don't think it can be done exactly like you want.

    Re: combine in pivot

    Hi VJ,

I'm going to study http://www.pivot-table.com/2009/10/2...e-values-area/ to see if it solves your question.

    See also http://www.ashishmathur.com/display-...a-pivot-table/

You and I will study both of the above to see if there is an answer.

It would help if you attached a sample of what you have and show EXACTLY what you want to arrive at, for an answer

Here is a better explanation of the problem with a better answer??.

AND here is an example and how it is done.

I'm still not sure any of the above does exactly what you are looking for....

    Re: combine in pivot

    Hi VJ,

My best answer is you are going to need a helper column like I suggested in my first post. Sorry, I think you are asking Pivots to do more than they can.

All those Text In Pivot Tables examples are putting the text in the Values Area. You are trying to combine text in the Rows Area. Helper column
