Pad axis numbers so that chart width is consistent throughout a range of charts.

Like the title says.

Is it possible? If so, how?

An example of why this is useful:

Lets say you have two scatter charts 'a' and 'b'. On chart 'a' the y-axis has numbers going from 0-10. Chart 'b' y-axis goes from 100-1000.

Using the default axis options, that means that chart 'b' will have a wider y-axis, making the 'b' chart smaller compared to chart 'a' (given that 'a' and 'b' has the same total chart width). I want to pad the numbers in the y-axis so that both chart areas get the same width.

Does that make sense?
