Hey,

I'm running Excel 2010 on Windows 7 64bit SP1. I have a bunch of data in a table related to details about matches played in a game and I'm using a Pivot Table to help me analyse this data.

I'm essentially trying to make a sort of dashboard in Excel, where I can filter and adjust the pivot table for different periods of time, different matches or different players and then when I'm happy with it create a chart from the data and be able to lock the chart's status at that point.

The issue I have currently is that when I have made the chart and subsequently adjust my filters in the pivot table the chart updates as well. This is great on some occasions but is annoying when I want to look at multiple views of the same data.

The only solution I have right now is to make a different pivot table for each chart, which from what I can tell is the intended approach, but when I want to analyse the data in a lot of different ways I quickly find I have too many pivot tables to easily manage.

Is there any way to lock the chart after creation and only have it update based on the pivot table's state when I unlock it?

Thanks
