Re: Gantt chart for dynamic data

    Hi Lorena,

    Welcome to the forums.

I would recommend using a table that will dynamically change based on the tasks entered. Check out this tutorial and video:
How-to Make Dynamic Excel Dashboard Charts Using Tables

Alternately, you can use the offset function to graph the tasks entered, but it is more complex. Here is a tutorial on this technique and video:

Please let me know if this helps

Red face Re: Gantt chart for dynamic data

Thank you very much Steve! i am using the offset function now its working
sometimes was giving a error message like problems on the reference.. anyhow it disappearead.
I am doing a bars graph that i have to indicate the
progress, on the picture attached in red are the days passed until today ..in green the days left to finish the task.Thats what i did so far.
The problem now is that when the user put on the status column HOLDING ..on the graph it can not be red anymore lets say ..have to be another color..when the person input PROGRESS..the color will be back to green so at the end i can see the days it was in progress ..the days was in hold ...Can you have me an idea how would i do it on a easier way??

    Hi Lorena,

Based on your comments, you need to add more information that will make the chart block conditionally color probably with the NA() Function. Here is a tutorial on what I mean:
How-to Make a Conditional Column Chart in Excel - REDO

Also, your chart looks like a Gantt chart. Here is a tutorial on that topic as well:

Please let me know if these help.

Re: Gantt chart for dynamic data

    Hi Steve,

So ..I was reading about these conditionals but the problem is that i have to program somehow according to what the user is gonna type ... for example if until yesterday was holding and today the user change to progress ..so i think there should have a way of keeping the initial data that the person typed hold ..so from that date on it will paint on yellow for ex...when typing progress again ..keep that date initial also ..so after that start painting green ...i dont know if i am clear ..but thank you very much ..i attached one to show the idea sheet2.pngsheet2.png
