Pivot Chart Running Total - Removing Current Year Future Total

    Hello,

What I am trying to do is to have a comparison of previous years data to the current years up to the current month (Data not available for future months). Using pivot charts and running total this produces a continuous flat line where data is not available in future months.

The Data is a large amount of transactions therefore a pivot chart will allow for changing the department or item. I have attached an example of the problem which I am trying to resolve. Currently I am selecting the points and formatting to remove them.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks!

Where in the pivot table or in the graph?

    And what do you remove?
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Points in the graph which are in the future such as August -December for 2013. This I do not wish to be shown as the data is yet to become available.

I say removed really I should have said hidden formatting for no marker or no line for them points.

Re: Pivot Chart Running Total - Removing Current Year Future Total

    I see your point.

I think the data is showing correctly (but i looks not nice; I agree with that).

I thought I could make the value in the pivot table (running total) zero = 0.

I made it that way, but i don't reflect on the chart.

The chart shows zero (which is even more ugle and incorrect) as showing the flat line.

So, I can't help you with that; sorry for that.

Is there no way to set values to NA() or "" so they won't show after current date?

I have also got powerpivot if this would allow me to do this

    Thanks

Since it is an running total, I don't think it's possible in excel 2007 (anyway I don't know the solution for that).
