Pie Chart to pull data from single column

    Greetings

I'm doing a termination report at work and I need to create a pie chart based on data in a selected column. Ive never used excel charts before but I cant get the pie chart to display the information that I want.
I created a sample workbook. Its very a simple column of data. I would like a pie chart based on the percentages of "yes" to "no". I havent been able to get it to work.

    Thank you.

select a cell in your list then Insert - Pivot chart then drag the Hire field to the row area and then again to the Values area and change the chart type to Pie :-)

that oughta work but you need to include A1 in the source range-the first row is used as headers

I did that but it still keeps saying that the data source reference is not valid. Really weird.

perhaps try converting the range to a table and use that as the source?

Re: Pie Chart to pull data from single column

Alright I got it now. Lets say I have four columns of data that I want four different pie charts for. If I created pivot charts for each graph how can I make it so that when I filter one field it changes all of the graphs acording to that filter? In other words how do I link all the pivot tables together so that they all filter together based on the order in which you filter certain fields?
