    Making multiple graphs from one table

    Hi there,

    I have large set of data that I need to make multiple line graphs from, based on what I am filtering on.

    For example, I have something similar to this
    A 13
    A 45
    A 23
    B 65
    B 23
    B 56

    What I would like to do is filter by "A", make a chart with that info, and then, using the same table, filter by "B" and make another chart using that data. Is this at all possible? The issue that I'm having now is that when I unfilter to make the second graph, the first graph doesn't lock in with the original data and changes.

    Any help at all would be much appreciated!

    Re: Making multiple graphs from one table

    Thanks for the attempt Jeff!

    I think I may have been a little bit unclear in my original post. What I'm wanting to do is make 2 completely separate, static graphs from one chart (ie, I would have 1 graph for data A, and another totally different with data B). What you've done is what I'm trying to avoid doing, which is having one graph switch back and forth between both sets of data.

    On another note, how were you able to make cell E2 into a drop down that would make the graph pull up the different sets of data? I've never seen that before!

    Thanks!

    I'm a little unclear by what you mean, 2 separtate charts from one chart, but my guess you mean from your data?

    Anyway, check the attachment in post #2 as it has been modified.

    Data Validation - Use a Delimited List

    Then to cycle the data through the chart via E2, used two named ranges as the data source.

    MyAxis =OFFSET(Sheet1!$A$1,MATCH(Sheet1!$E$2,Sheet1!$A$2:$A$7,0),0,COUNTIF(Sheet1!$A$2:$A$7,Sheet1!$E$2))
    MyData =OFFSET(MyAxis,0,1)

    Re: Making multiple graphs from one table

    That's exactly what I want to do, but I was hoping that there was a faster way than just sorting and selecting, as the amount data I'm going to be working on is massive. It seems like sorting and selecting is pretty much the only way to do it?

    Thanks!
