    Expandable Table with Multiple Levels

    Hello all!

First of all, please forgive my lack of finding the right words to explain my problem. I will do my best, promise!

In a nutshell, I need to create a table that "maps" out different vendors to their respective service type. The list of vendors is expanding rapidly, so it needs to be easily updatable. Here is an example of a list that needs to be made into a updatable table:

    Automotive, Boats & Cycles >
    Auto & Cycle Sales >
    Graham Auto Sales
    MotorGlobe
    Auto Emergency Services >
    Pop-A-Lock Atlanta
    SafeRide America
    Auto Maintenence & Repair >
    Aamco Total Care Care
    Havoline xpress Lube
    Sentry Body & Painting
    Business Services >
    Audio/Video Sales and Installation >
    Audio Video Techs

There are many more... but I think that section gets my point across. So... does anyone have any ideas on how to go about creating a table out of this? Thank you!

    Norie,

I literally just typed that out. I dont even know where to start with creating pivot tables with multiple layers. I want to create a pivot table that has multiple "levels/layers". The catch is I need it to be updatable-so I wont have to insert a new row every time we get a new vendor.

You can't really create a pivot table with only text values.

Okay. Maybe a pivot table isn't what I'm aiming for. Think of it like a folder tree heiarchy like you would see in windows explorer or in mac's finder. Is something like that possible in excel?
