I have an Excel sheet with graphs that are showing 1 year CDS levels for many different securities. In the corner of each graph, I put a text box that references a cell in another sheet to show the implied probability of default. When I open the file, the charts all update automatically but the text boxes show #Value!. If I hover the cursor over them or click on them individually (the hover doesn't always work), they instantly show the correct value. Does anyone know why I am getting the #Value!?
My initial assumption is because the chart data gets automatically refreshed when the file is opened and the formula in the text box could be looking at the data as it is in the middle of the refresh and so it shows the value (#Value!) that is there. Then when I click on it the formula gets refreshed and the correct data is now there so it displays correctly. If this is the case, why doesn't hitting F9 and refreshing the data correct all of the text boxes. It doesn't seem to do anything so I am relegated to clicking on each box every time I open the file.
Thanks!
