Insert range of cells into chart textbox

Excel 2003

I have an Excel chart into which I want to copy a range of cells into a text box. I can insert a text box into the chart. I then select the cell range, then Edit Copy, go into the text box on the chart and try Edit Paste, but Paste is disabled. Is there another way, otherwise I would have to actually type into the text box all the data that currently resides in the cell range.

Did you try post #5 here?

Or if you want to simply copy and paste the cell values into the text box one time, copy the values like how you did (Edit Copy), and then paste them into Notepad first, then copy from Notepad and then double click the text box and paste (Ctrl + V).

Thanks, but the post#5 suggestion refers to just a single cell. It will not work if a cell range is selected.

If it needs to be updated regularly, you can have another cell that combines the number of cells you needed, and link this cell to the text box
