PivotTable:Stumped by simple % difference between two fields - help!

Greetings, gurus! After many years of Excel as a daily-use tool I've drifted away and seem to be forgetting things. I'm working on a project that is comparing estimates (OrigRefurb) and actuals (ActRefurb) for remodeling costs in construction. All I want to do is create a 3rd column with the computed difference between the original and actual. We are using PTs because we've got tons of data in the database and Pivots are way easier to filter down to the relevant dataset.

I've messed around with Show Values as % Difference From, but I can never get the correct result. I'm not sure if my layout is bad or my dependencies are bad. I hope/assume I'm just missing something obvious.

    Thanks!

    OrigRefurb ActRefurb PerctDiff
    House1 20000 30000
    House2 5000 2500
    House3 15000 7000

are OrigRefurb and ActRefurb different fields, or items in the same field?

The spreadsheet that is the database is set up like the table I 'drew' above. Each house is a row, and the OrigRefurb and ActRefurb are each columns.

I'm agnostic as to how the PT is setup...

    Thanks!

in the PT you can create a calculated field using
    =('ActRefurb - 'OrigRefurb') / 'OrigRefurb'
