How to Automatically Update New Data within a Filtered Pivot Table?

I have a spreadsheet that is filled in daily. I pull quantities from different activities going on, and in some cases they start on a certain date and carry on each day. When I filter dates not to include, it doesn't automatically add the new data from new dates I enter. I have to open the filter drop down menu and manually select the data. I know I can create the pivot table to start at the day so I wouldn't have to filter, but if there is a setting somewhere that I can't find that also allows that, that would be a great help.
