Subtotals for a calculated field within a Pivot table

    I have two date fields.

I have a calculated field which finds out whether one of these date fields is greater than the other (to see whether I am 'within deadline').

I wish to subtotal the number of instances that are within deadline (within another 'colour' field) - e.g. Blue has 2 instances.

    Workbook is attached.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

you could add an helper column to your data source (please see the example attached).

    In the example I've used

    --(D2<C2)

    Hope it helps

That's great - thanks Canapone. I have successfully applied the same technique to my own file.

    Hi,

    thanks for your kind feedback.

I've been using Pivot Tables for many years, but I cannot get along with calculated fields (my problem).

As a 2010 user, give a look to Powerpivots.

    Regards
